MidMichigan Health is very proactive with furthering education. They offer reimbursement opportunities for furthering education such as for a bachelor’s degree in nursing. There are also many opportunities for online education. Infusion nurses are encouraged to obtain an oncology certification. There are also many committees and opportunities at MidMichigan Health to help you more involved with making change, such as through a Unit Practice Council (UPC).

There is now a buddy program at the Medical Center for all new employees. This helps with facility orientation and knowledge of things like where to park; where the cafeteria is; and other things along those lines not directly related to job performance. Training is completed by staff member in the department where there are daily checklists and feedback overseen by the unit manager.
