MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot surgical services consist of pre-surgical evaluation, outpatient surgery, operating room, and the post anesthesia care unit. The outpatient surgery department cares for members of the community seeking surgical, cardiac care, radiology, infusion care, and pain clinic services. The operating room utilizes four OR suites and one procedure room. Plans for a new state of the art facility are currently underway for surgical services at the Medical Center. The PACU consists of five bays staffed with a team of RN’s that care for patients pre- and post-operatively.

The surgical services staff follow the AORN and ASPAN standards of care. Our staff prides themselves on providing safe, compassionate, and knowledgeable care to our patients and their families.

Members of our team are given the opportunity to participate in committees that help drive the health systems commitment toward Magnet® status. In addition, staff members have the support to attend conferences and encouragement to obtain certifications in our area of specialty.

Unit orientation is given by a team of experienced staff who value the importance of professionalism and high standards of care. Orientation is individualized based on our new staff members experience and skill level.
