Shashank is from Novi, Michigan. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in Cognitive & Computational Neuroscience. Shashank works as a medical school tutor and volunteers with Spartan Street Medicine. He also founded and volunteers with the Blueprints for Pangaea nonprofit chapter at MSU, an organization focused on reallocating excess medical supplies from the United States healthcare system to countries in need. In his free time, Shashank enjoys cooking, exercising, and dancing.
Paul is from Iron Mountain, Michigan. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at Central Michigan University. He is part of the Rural Community Health Program at MSU CHM. He has volunteered as a hospice companion and also volunteered at the Midland High School shelter during the 2020 flood. Paul lives with his fiancé, Caleigh, and his cat, Opie. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, reading, and spending time with family.
Michael is from Saginaw, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from Michigan State University. He volunteered with Sparrow Hospice care and was a research assistant at an MSU physiology lab. He is married to his wife, Rachel, and enjoys playing guitar, working out, and serving in his church..
Allison is from Unionville, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science and certification in Intercultural Training from Grand Valley State University. Allison completed a service year with Americorps as a health advocate for low-income patients and has volunteered with the refugee population through Bethany Christian Services and the homeless population through Degage Ministries. Additionally, she has been on service trips to Ghana, Panama, Honduras, Thailand, and Peru. Allison's current research projects include studying recurrence patterns of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma as well as colorectal carcinoma and examining PFAS levels in serum and tumor samples from hepatobiliary and gastrointestinal malignancies in West Michigan. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing sports and cheering on the Detroit Lions.
David is from Mattawan, Michigan. He completed his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University with a major in Human Biology and a minor in Bioethics. During his studies, David worked as a phlebotomist and as a research assistant in medical sociology. David enjoys videogames, camping, and playing the piano in his spare time.
Khyllian is from Howard City, Michigan and holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from GVSU in Biomedical Sciences. She is very interested in a primary care specialty working with women and children. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and kitty cat and trying new foods.
Lis is from Cass City, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from Michigan State University (MSU). She has volunteered as an Honors Times Two Mentor at MSU and as a patient advocate with CHM Serve at CareFree Medical Clinic. She enjoys running, playing piano, and traveling.
Elana is from Oakley, Michigan. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences from Michigan State University. Elana has worked as a learning assistant in physics and biology, as a peri-operative orderly, and as a tutor. Elana has also enjoyed volunteering with various organizations and clubs throughout her studies. She is married to her husband, Sam. In her spare time, Elana enjoys cooking and being active outdoors.
Scot is from East Lansing, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Notre Dame. Scot has worked as a medical school tutor and served as a volunteer caregiver at the Mother Teresa Hospice House in Lansing. In his free time, Scot enjoys cycling and running.
Christian (he/him/his) is from Northern California. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. He then worked as an optical assistant and optician before moving to Michigan to complete his medical school training. He volunteered with the Berkeley Free Clinic (providing free and inclusive sexual health services such as HIV/STI testing and treatment) and with MEDLIFE (an international non-profit organization providing patient care and community development). He is a proponent of improving access to healthcare for the underserved and plans to return to a similar setting as a healthcare provider. For leisure, he tends to his houseplants, attempts to DIY his favorite foods, goes on bike rides, and plays video games with friends.
