You’ll love it here!

Direct Patient Access, Faculty Mentors, Clinical Rotations

Enjoy direct access to the patients and experienced teaching physicians of MidMichigan Health during your clinical rotations at our hospitals in Midland, Clare, Gladwin and Gratiot. You’ll appreciate the personal attention and one-on-one mentoring from our faculty experts, who continually expand their own professional skills and value their interactions with you.

Hands-On Learning in Urban and Rural Settings

As you study at the Midland campus, you can expect extensive hands-on learning opportunities in a variety of medical disciplines and specialties. You’ll also benefit from working with diverse community patient populations located across our 23-county service area—from Alma to West Branch and beyond. You’ll experience both urban and rural settings through our dozens of affiliated urgent care clinics, home care providers and community physician practices. And you’ll meet your new professional colleagues—current third-year students and fourth-year students who call our Midland Regional Campus their home away from home.

Advanced Technology Matches Academic Medical Centers

When you choose our Midland campus for your clinical training, you gain access to advanced technology that rivals anything you’d find at large academic medical centers. From 128-slice CT scanning, 3.0 T closed and 1.0 T open MRI, PET scanning, intravascular ultrasound and the tools for deep brain stimulation (DBS) to the da Vinci® surgical robot, Gamma Knife Perfexion equipment for stereotactic radiosurgery, a laminar airflow system to reduce infection risks and more, you’ll work with the best. Patient information is immediately available through our electronic medical record. And our advanced in-room patient monitoring technology provides instant feedback to all healthcare team members.

Collaborative Environment at Nationally Ranked Hospitals

MidMichigan HealthLearn from MidMichigan Health’s medical experts. Our teaching physicians look forward to interacting with you. They’re dedicated practitioners who value the collaborative environment they find at our nationally ranked hospitals. Together, we’re building a successful, financially stable health system that leads the nation in clinical excellence and patient safety—we’ve ranked among the top in the United States three years in a row. You benefit from a commitment to excellent medical education and patient care made by all of our healthcare providers, administrators and staff.

During your training, you can also take advantage of access to the MSU Library, clinical elective clerkships and the Early Immersion Summer Program for College of Human Medicine (CHM) Block 1 students.
