Visiting Hours and Policies
Please refer to the policies below for specific visiting hours and number of visitors for each area. Waiting room space is limited, so we recommend that you designate one or two visitors to stay at the hospital and provide periodic updates to other friends and family via phone or e-mail.

MidMichigan Medical Center – Clare
Please get consent from the nurse manager or designee before bringing visitors under 5 years old.
Emergency Room
One person may accompany the patient to the exam room, as allowed by the physician.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Ten minutes on the even hours.
Only two visitors at a time, immediate family or significant others.
Medical – Surgical Unit
10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Outpatient/Same Day Surgery
Two people may accompany the patient.
Pediatrics
Noon - 8 p.m.
Parent visitation times are flexible, and arrangements can be made for a parent to stay the night.
Progressive Care Unit
Noon - 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Only two visitors at a time.
MidMichigan Medical Center – Gladwin
Emergency Room
Two visitors based upon the patient's condition and as allowed by the physician.
Medical – Surgical
Noon - 8 p.m.
Visiting hours are flexible.
Only two visitors at a time.
Pediatrics
Noon - 8 p.m.
Visiting hours are flexible.
Parents are welcome to spend time with their children. Sleeping arrangements can be provided. Please check with the nurse in charge.
MidMichigan Medical Center – Gratiot
Emergency Department
Two visitors based on patient's condition and as allowed by the physician. One person may accompany the patient to the exam room, as allowed by the physician, based on the patient's medical needs.
Pediatric Care
Only two visitors at a time may visit the patient. Hours are flexible, based on the patient's medical needs. Please check with the nurse to determine appropriate visiting times.
Medical - Surgical Care
Only two visitors at a time may visit the patient. Hours are flexible, based on the patient's medical needs. Please check with the nurse to determine appropriate visiting times.
RehabCentre
The RehabCentre has open visiting hours for caregivers and immediate family; however, they are encouraged to come in the evenings and on weekends. Visitors may also check with the nurse for additional times that may be available.
Maternity
The mother’s support person is encouraged to remain with her as much as she wishes during labor, delivery and after the birth. The baby's grandparents and siblings may also visit at any time. We suggest limiting the number of other visitors and limiting the number of people in the room at one time to allow mothers the extra rest and recuperation they need.
Critical Care Unit
Only two immediate family members or designated visitors at a time. Hours are flexible, based on the patient's medical needs. Please check with the nurse to determine appropriate visiting times.
Psychiatric Care Unit
Monday - Friday Noon - 1:15 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Weekends and holidays Noon - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland
Please be aware, the Hospital Entrance is locked from 8 p.m. - 4:15 a.m. For those needing to see a loved one on a patient floor after hours, please enter the Hospital Entrance vestibule and the Security Department will assist you.

Only two immediate family members or designated visitors at a time. Hours are flexible, based on patient's medical needs. Please check with the nurse to determine appropriate visiting times.
Outpatient Procedures and Testing
Only two visitors may accompany the patient to help with driving and other needs.
Pediatrics
Immediate family only. Exceptions are made based on patient's needs. Hours are flexible, based on patient's medical needs. Please check with the nurse to determine appropriate visiting times.
Mental Health
3 p.m. - 7 p.m., seven days a week.
Children may visit with staff approval, if accompanied by an adult other than the patient.
Maternity
