Visitors: Tobacco/Smoke-Free Policy

Clouds Masthead

For Your Health, All MidMichigan Health Locations Are Tobacco/Smoke-Free

For your health, all MidMichigan Health locations are now tobacco/smoke-free. This policy reinforces our commitment to create a healthy environment for our patients and one another by eliminating second- and third-hand smoke.

The new policy defines tobacco products as cigarettes, cigars, pipes, other lighted smoking devices and chewing tobacco. Use of these products is not permitted on any MidMichigan Health campus, and includes all buildings, both inside and out, facility grounds and parking lots, as well as surrounding properties.

This policy complies with the Michigan Department of Community Health code, Michigan Clean Indoor Air Act of 1986 and Public Act 315, as well as the regulations and directives of The Joint Commission, the accrediting organization for health care organizations. The policy is also in accord with the Michigan Health and Hospital Association's Campaign for Smoke-Free Hospitals in which hospitals throughout the state are voluntarily implementing smoke free policies.

We ask that all patients, visitors and vendors extinguish all smoking materials before arriving.

Thank you for helping us to promote better health in our community.
