What is Laparascopic Surgery?

Our surgeons typically perform bariatric procedures using a laparoscope, which is less invasive than traditional open surgery.

In laparascopic surgery, a fiber optic tube connected to a video camera is inserted through small abdominal incisions to allow surgeons to view the area as they complete the procedure. Laparoscopic surgery allows a faster recovery time than the traditional single-large incision method, it lowers the risk of infection and it results in less scarring.
