People with diabetes have a higher risk than most people for developing a variety of foot problems, including blood vessel disease, nerve damage or serious infection that can lead to amputation. MidMichigan Health offers Foot Clinics to help people with diabetes maintain healthy feet.

Prevention Is Key
Learning how to properly care for your feet is the key to preventing foot problems. Your physician may recommend you schedule a visit with a diabetes nurse to learn proper foot care, nail care and shoe selection.
If you already have a foot problem, your physician may refer you to the Foot Clinic for evaluation and treatment.
