MidMichigan Health Network provides cost-effective managed care services to employers throughout Michigan. Its ConnectCare plans have been serving local employers since 1993 and currently provide health coverage for more than 37,000 lives.
NCQA Utilization Management Certification focuses on consumer protection and improvement in service to customers. Standards recognize that organizations that apply for certification have open access networks, and can improve service quality and utilize customized structures to meet purchaser needs. MidMichigan Health Network is designed to slow the increasing rate of healthcare costs while maintaining high-quality accessible care. National employer health benefit costs as reported by the Kaiser Foundation show a 145.9% increase since 2002. ConnectCare’s Medical Management Book of Business employers have only seen approximately 50% of the reported Kaiser Foundation increase.
ConnectCare primarily serves Midland, Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Isabella, Montcalm and Roscommon counties. ConnectCare, through an agreement with Cofinity, makes available over 60,000 physicians and 480 hospitals throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and parts of Kentucky and Wisconsin. An Agreement with Cigna provides a network of physicians and facilities in Texas and Florida.
The Network is a joint venture between Physician Associates of MidMichigan (PAM) and MidMichigan Health. PAM is a physician organization, which represents physicians in Midland, Clare, Gladwin, Isabella and Roscommon counties. There are over 290 physicians that are members of PAM, of which about 24% are primary care and 76% are specialists.
