Invasive Cardiologist Joins Heart and Vascular Team

Steven Gellman, M.D.Invasive Cardiologist Steven D. Gellman, M.D., has joined MidMichigan Physicians Group as a member of the comprehensive heart and vascular team at MidMichigan Health. This team includes cardiologists, interventional cardiologists and electrophysiologists, as well as vascular and open heart surgeons. This comprehensive team cares for patients with a variety of conditions such as coronary heart disease, heart attack, congestive heart failure, congenital heart disease, heart rhythm disorders, peripheral vascular disease and other conditions affecting the heart and circulatory system.

Dr. Gellman received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Mo. He completed a residency at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals in Detroit and went on to complete a cardiology fellowship.

Dr. Gellman started his medical career practicing as a general internist and teaching medical students and residents at Wayne State University. Nearly a decade later, he was drawn to the field of cardiology after seeing the many exciting breakthroughs with drug and device treatments that could fundamentally alter the course of heart disease.

In addition to coronary artery disease and valvular heart disease, Dr. Gellman holds a clinical interest in the evaluation of pulmonary hypertension and management of heart disease in patients with systemic diseases.

“While my main focus is on treating my patient’s heart condition, I never lose sight of their overall health,” Dr. Gellman said. “I believe every patient is unique and deserves a personalized approach to their heart care. By building long-term relationships with my patients, I can continually monitor their heart problems and quickly identify any changes in their condition. My ultimate goal is to return my patients to an active lifestyle and prevent further progression of their heart disease.”

Dr. Gellman is on the medical staff at MidMichigan Medical Centers in Clare and Alma. He sees cardiology patients at his main office located at 602 Beech Street, Suite 1230, in Clare, and at his satellite office at 160 E. Warwick Drive in Alma.
