When Life’s Stressors Contribute to Health Concerns New Program Helps

Stacey R. Gedeon, Psy.D., M.S.C.P.A new program at MidMichigan Health Park-Houghton Lake combines behavioral health consultations with physician visits to assist patients when habits, behaviors, stress, worry and emotional concerns interfere with daily life or overall health.

Behavioral Health Consultant Stacey R. Gedeon, Psy.D., M.S.C.P., a licensed psychologist and director of behavioral health at MidMichigan Community Health Services, leads the program, which provides brief consultations and interventions for patients during primary care visits to physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners at the clinic.

People with conditions such as insomnia, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, depression and anxiety may benefit from the behavioral health consultations. This program will allow primary care patients greater access to behavioral health interventions and will ensure a collaborative team approach to their care. Traditional mental health treatment will still be provided for established MidMichigan patients by behavioral health professionals at MidMichigan Health Park-Houghton Lake and MidMichigan Medical Offices-Roscommon. Those who have questions about this program may contact Dr. Stacey Gedeon at (989) 422-2140.
