Diane Postler-Slattery Selected as Next President of MidMichigan Health
The MidMichigan Health Board of Directors has approved the selection of Diane Postler-Slattery, Ph.D., F.A.C.H.E., as the next president and CEO of MidMichigan Health. She will assume this position upon the retirement of Rick Reynolds, current president and CEO, which is slated for early 2013.
“Diane was the unanimous choice from a field of excellent candidates,” said Reynolds. “She has a strong clinical background and experience working within a health system. She also has a record of outstanding leadership and community involvement. Those who interviewed her believe Diane is a solid match with the philosophy and practice of our MidMichigan Health values of excellence, integrity, teamwork and accountability.”
Postler-Slattery comes to MidMichigan from Aspirus Inc. in Wausau, Wisc., where she has been the president and chief operating officer of the 325-bed regional referral hospital, Aspirus Hospital, since 2005. She also held a system-level position as senior vice president of quality and extended services at Aspirus Inc. Prior to this position she was the chief operating officer and chief nurse executive of Aspirus Wausua Hospital where she established the vision for nursing practice leading to the magnet achievement award, among other accomplishments.
She earned her Ph.D. in education administration in 1995 from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She received both her Master of Science degree in nursing/nursing administration and Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. All of her degrees were earned with honors.
Postler-Slattery’s roster of professional affiliations and civic leadership is extensive. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a member of such community organizations as Rotary, the Performing Arts Foundation, and the Community Foundation, among others.
A recipient of numerous awards, she received the State of Wisconsin Champion in Women’s Health, Athena Award, President’s Award from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire and Women of Vision Award, in addition to many others.
MidMichigan Health is a family of health care organizations serving a 14-county region in the middle of Michigan, and includes Medical Centers in Midland, Alma, Clare and Gladwin, Michigan, as well as health parks in Mt. Pleasant, West Branch, Freeland and Houghton Lake, nursing homes and home care. It includes more than 6,300 employees, physicians and volunteers. MidMichigan Health recently announced plans to partner with the University of Michigan, which is expected within a few months.
