Areas of Current Emphasis
MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland is currently focusing fundraising efforts on the following activities. If you are looking for suggestions of where to give, we generally apply undesignated funds in these areas of current need.
Love Light Trees
For 31 years, the Love Light Trees have shined indicating support received for this project enhancing the care offered to patients and families. Donations from the current campaign will purchase IntelliVue MP5 monitors for the Maternity Unit at MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland. Considered the most advanced technology available for neonatal and pediatric use, these monitors will carefully watch those infants experiencing respiratory distress, cardiac conditions and seziure issues. The technology enables medical staff to identify problems that can be acted upon quickly to save a child's life.
Cardiovascular Services
Heart attack is the number one killer in America. According to recent American Heart Association research, Michigan is one of the worst states in the nation for coronary heart disease mortality. Four of the counties in MidMichigan's service area -- Clare, Roscommon, Gratiot, and Gladwin counties -- had even higher mortality rates and lower utilization of cardiovascular services than the state average. In response to these statistics, MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland has enchanced its cardiovascular program by adding open heart surgery, elective angioplasty and electrophysiology. Your donations to the Heart Fund will provide valuable diagnostic and treatment equipment, education and prevention materials, enabling area residents to get the care they need close to home.
Circle of Care
Patients, family members and visitors often compliment our staff for our high level of customer service and care. In response to their comments, a Circle of Care program was created. This program provides grateful recipients of our care the opportunity to recognize someone who has provided exemplary service, while at the same time helping MidMichigan Medical Center–Midland assist those in need through donations received in their honor.
Hospitality Service
Warm, friendly faces and affordable, close accommodations can mean so much for people facing medical treatments. MidMichigan's Hospitality Service provides affordable accommodations to outpatients receiving care at the Medical Center in Midland as well as families of inpatients. Offered through Fairview Inn, guests pay a nominal fee and the Medical Center covers the remaining balance.
