The WellSport Team
J.T Pinney, M.D., medical director for WellSport, is with MidMichigan Physicians Group. He is a board certified family physician with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine from the American Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Pinney is a team physician for the Great Lakes Loons baseball team, along with Orthopaedic Surgeon John Murphy, D.O., team physician for orthopaedics.
Dr. Pinney works with a team of other experts throughout the middle of Michigan to evaluate, manage and treat patients in the most effective and efficient manner possible. This team includes:
- Rehabilitation professionals such as athletic trainers, physical therapists and occupational therapists who have specific expertise in working with athletes and treating specific injuries.
- Orthopaedic surgeons who specialize in each patient’s specific injury.
- Other specialists as needed to address conditions such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease, weight management and arthritis that can limit an athlete’s performance.
