You Still Have Time to Apply for Health Coverage
The promise of quality, affordable coverage is becoming a reality for more and more Americans. Despite technical challenges with Healthcare.gov, as of November 2nd more than half a million Americans have enrolled in coverage through a Qualified Health Plan, Medicaid, or CHIP.
With Healthcare.gov functioning better every day and multiple ways to sign up, now is the time for our patients and community members to enroll and take advantage of health coverage beginning in the New Year. For those who enroll by December 23, 2013, coverage begins January 1, 2014. Otherwise individuals have until March 31, 2014 to sign up for coverage in the open enrollment period.
To save time, consumers can prepare for enrollment by going through the Marketplace Application Checklist.
There are four ways to apply for coverage through the Marketplace:
- Online - Visit www.HealthCare.gov
- By Phone - (800) 318-2596 or TTY (855) 889-4325
- In-Person - Call (989) 422-2158 for an appointment with a MidMichigan Community Health Services enrollment specialist.
- By Mail - Download the application form and instructions from Healthcare.gov.
